Understanding Our Pricing Model#

ZoneHero Service Fee

• $0.002 per Load balancer Compute Unit used per hour (LCUhour)
• Includes licenses for running Hero Load Balancers and control plane usage

For HTTP and HTTPS listeners, one LCUhour is defined as the largest of:

• 1GiB per hour, including TLS and headers overhead
• 3,000 active connections per minute
• 25 new connections per second

For UDP listeners, one LCUhour is only defined by the number of GiB transferred per hour.

Every started LCU is due.

The number of Availability Zones (AZ) used influences how much data transfer will go across zones in a typical scenario. “Unavoidable cross AZ” is the percentage of requests that HLB will still have to send across AZs to ensure optimal quality of service.

These costs are based on public prices for a typical region like Ireland or N. Virginia. ZoneHero compute costs are an estimate based on 50% average CPU utilization of instances in the c8g family, using TLS (ECC), and based on our own benchmarking data. Actual costs vary depending on many factors such as connection reuse, request size, congestion conditions, and actual utilisation. You must do your own benchmarking to ensure suitability of the product for your particular use case.
